Effective October 30, 2026
OTTER is an internal tool for organizers of SB Hacks, a student-run hackathon at UC Santa Barbara. By signing in or connecting a mailbox, you agree to these terms.
Who can use OTTER
OTTER is only for SB Hacks organizers who sign in with an SB Hacks (@sbhacks.com) Google account. Connected mailboxes can be on any address you are allowed to use for this purpose, such as a UCSB account. Access can be removed at any time, including when someone leaves the team.
Your mailbox
When you connect a Gmail account, you authorize OTTER to send outreach emails from it and to read campaign threads, as described in the Privacy Policy. Connect only an account you're allowed to use for this purpose. You can remove access at any time in your Google Account permissions.
Acceptable use
Use OTTER only for SB Hacks sponsorship outreach. Don't use it to:
- send misleading, harassing or unlawful messages;
- contact someone who has asked us to stop;
- break the rules of Google, LinkedIn, Discord or your school;
- share your access, or try to get around its limits or safeguards.
You're responsible for emails you approve and for messages you send by hand.
AI-generated content
OTTER can use AI to draft emails and sort replies. It can make mistakes, so check drafts you review and correct labels that look wrong.
No warranty
OTTER is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. It may have errors or downtime, and emails may be delayed, undelivered or misclassified.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, SB Hacks and its organizers aren't liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of OTTER.
Changes
We may update these terms by changing this page and its effective date. Continuing to use OTTER means you accept the update.
